Keto vs. Lifestyle Meal Prep: Which Option Fits Your Routine?

One menu. Two ways to enjoy it. Find the meal prep style that fits your routine.

Meal prep should make your life easier — not force you into a one-size-fits-all approach to eating.

At Pure Meal Prep SD, we believe your meals should work around your lifestyle, your preferences, and the way you actually want to eat. That’s why each week, our chef-crafted menu is available in both Keto and Lifestyle options, giving you the flexibility to choose what works best for you.

So, what’s the difference between Keto and Lifestyle meal prep? And how do you know which option is right for your routine?

Let’s break it down.

What is Lifestyle Meal Prep?

Our Lifestyle meals are designed around a balanced approach to meal prep, with a combination of protein, vegetables, and smart carbohydrates.

Each Lifestyle meal features approximately:

  • – 5 oz. of protein
  • – 1 cup of vegetables
  • – 1 cup of smart carbohydrates
  • – Approximately 400–550 calories

This style of meal prep can be a great fit for someone looking for balanced, satisfying meals without specifically limiting carbohydrates.

Think of it as a straightforward way to enjoy a well-rounded meal without having to plan, shop, cook, portion, and clean up yourself.

From chef-crafted proteins and roasted vegetables to thoughtfully prepared grains and our signature sauces, Lifestyle meals are designed to bring variety and flavor to your week while keeping meal prep simple.

Lifestyle may be a good fit if you:

  • – Prefer a balanced combination of protein, vegetables, and carbohydrates
  • – Enjoy having smart carbs included in your meals
  • – Want variety without following a specific low-carb approach
  • – Have a busy schedule and want balanced meals ready to heat and enjoy
  • – Prefer a flexible approach to your weekly meal prep

What is Keto Meal Prep?

Our Keto meals take a lower-carbohydrate approach while still focusing on satisfying portions and chef-driven flavor.

Each Keto meal features approximately:

  • – 5 oz. of protein
  • – 2 cups of vegetables
  • – Less than 5g of carbohydrates
  • – Approximately 500–650 calories

Instead of pairing your protein with a traditional carbohydrate, Keto meals are built around generous portions of vegetables and flavorful preparations.

And there’s another benefit worth knowing: all of our Keto meals are naturally gluten-free.

That means if you’re following a Keto-style eating pattern and also prefer or need to avoid gluten, our Keto menu gives you an easy option without having to create a separate meal plan.

And low-carb doesn’t have to mean boring.

Our Keto menu can include everything from slow-braised meats and roasted vegetables to rich sauces, herbs, spices, and finishing touches that make the meal feel much closer to something you’d order at a restaurant than traditional “diet food.”

Keto may be a good fit if you:

  • – Prefer meals that are very low in carbohydrates
  • – Want to limit your carbohydrate intake throughout the week
  • – Enjoy protein-forward meals with plenty of vegetables
  • – Already follow a Keto-style eating pattern
  • – Prefer or need naturally gluten-free meals
  • – Want the convenience of having low-carb meals prepared for you

So… Which One Is Right for You?

The answer really comes down to how you prefer to eat.

If you enjoy a balanced plate with protein, vegetables, and carbohydrates, Lifestyle may fit naturally into your routine.

If you prefer to keep carbohydrates very low and want meals built around protein and vegetables, Keto may be the better match for your weekly meal prep.

And here’s the best part: you don’t have to commit to the same option forever.

Your routine changes. Your schedule changes. Your preferences change. Your meal prep can change with you.

One Menu, Made Your Way

At Pure Meal Prep SD, we release five new chef-crafted dishes every week.

Rather than creating completely separate menus for different eating styles, we take our weekly menu and make it available in both Keto and Lifestyle options.

That means you can choose the meal style that fits you best while still enjoying the same elevated, chef-driven experience Pure is known for.

And because every meal is prepared fresh and delivered refrigerated, your week is already one step ahead.

No grocery list to make.

No hours spent cooking.

No stack of dishes waiting in the sink.

Just open your fridge, heat your meal, and get on with your day.

Meal Prep Should Taste As Good As It Feels

Healthy eating doesn’t have to mean sacrificing flavor or settling for repetitive meals.

At Pure, our menus are created by Chef Brett, with an emphasis on high-quality ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and restaurant-inspired flavor. New dishes are introduced every week, so your fridge doesn’t have to feel like a repeat of last week.

Whether you choose Keto or Lifestyle, the goal is the same: make eating well easier without taking the enjoyment out of it.

And when you have a busy week ahead, having a chef-crafted meal waiting for you can make all the difference.

Your Routine. Your Meals. Your Choice.

There’s no need to make meal prep more complicated than it needs to be.

Choose the style that fits the way you want to eat, select your meals from our weekly menu, and let us take care of the prep.

Whether you’re reaching for a balanced Lifestyle meal or a low-carb, naturally gluten-free Keto option, you can enjoy the same chef-crafted menu without compromising on flavor.

Keto or Lifestyle — one menu, made your way.
