What the Heck Happened in Our Kitchen?
If you’ve been following Pure Meal Prep SD for a while, you know that our kitchen is always buzzing with activity. But recently, it feels like we’ve had more excitement than ever—and not just with creating delicious new meals. From giving back to the community to connecting with teachers and families during back-to-school season, we’ve been busy behind the scenes doing what we love most: feeding San Diego and finding new ways to support the people who make our community so special.
Supporting Teachers During Back-to-School Chaos
Back-to-school season can feel overwhelming for everyone, but especially for teachers. They’re juggling lesson plans, long hours, and the enormous responsibility of shaping young minds. That’s why we decided to step in with a little support of our own.
Last week, our founders, Brett and Cassie, hit the road and visited multiple schools throughout the San Diego Unified School District. Armed with flyers and smiles, they spread the word about a new initiative we created just for educators: a special discounted teacher meal plan. This plan offers five chef-prepared meals at a reduced price, making it easier for teachers to nourish themselves without the stress of cooking, shopping, or cleaning.
For us, it was about more than just offering a deal—it was about showing appreciation. Teachers dedicate so much of their time and energy to shaping the next generation, and we felt it was only right to give back in a way that makes their lives a little easier. The response from schools was overwhelmingly positive, and we’re excited to continue supporting educators throughout the year.

Another big highlight from our week was seeing Cassie featured on FOX 5 San Diego’s Back-to-School segment! In the interview, she shared how Pure Meal Prep SD can make life easier for busy parents and teachers during this hectic season. From explaining our different meal plans to showing off our chef-crafted dishes, Cassie gave viewers a glimpse into what makes our service unique.

Giving Back to Our Hometown Heroes
Community has always been at the heart of what we do, and over the past several months, we’ve been strengthening that commitment by partnering with the San Diego Food Bank. Through this partnership, we’ve been able to provide meals to local families in need—a mission that means so much to us.
But that’s not all. We’ve also had the privilege of donating meals to our hometown heroes: San Diego’s fire stations and police departments. These men and women dedicate their lives to keeping us safe, and often, they’re so busy responding to emergencies that they don’t have the time to prioritize their own meals. By delivering nutritious, ready-to-eat dishes, we hope to give them the fuel they need to continue doing their incredible work.
So… What the Heck Happened in Our Kitchen?
The answer is simple: a whole lot of love, community, and purpose. Yes, our kitchen is where delicious meals are crafted each week, but it’s also the launching point for our bigger mission—supporting the people who make San Diego such a special place to call home.
From teachers to parents, firefighters to police officers, and families in need, we are honored to provide nourishment that goes beyond the plate.
